How does God get the Christians attention? – The Word, How were you saved? The Gospel.

How did those Christians in those nations get saved? The Gospel, they would do anything to get scraps of the bible.

Here is a story of Han-phan A Vietnamese Christian during the war in Vietnam.

Because he knew English and was an interpreter for some Evangelist, he was accused of being a spy for the US. He was not allowed to read anything in English. As they pounded it into the head of the man that there was no GOD and he was assigned the duty of cleaning the prison’s latrine or outhouse for the prison camp.

As he was cleaning the disgusting latrine of the prison, he looked into a bucket and as he was about to dump the bucket he noticed a paper in English, so he put his hand into the disgusting place, looked around and quickly washed it and hid it in his pocket.

When everyone went to sleep that night he took it out and shining a touch light looked at the paper and it said Romans 8 and he started to read Romans 8:28

“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”

And saw Roman 8:35

“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?”

And he started crying saying God, I woke up this morning saying I will never pray to you again and now I am holding in my hand one verse that I needed more than anything else. That all things can work together for good to them that love GOD. He got on his knees and begged God for forgiveness.

He woke up in the morning went to the commander of the camp and said, do you mind if I clean the latrines again today? He picked up pages from the new testament in the latrine everyday.

How did the bible pages get there?

The commander of the camp had been given a bible and he used it as tissue paper and threw it in the bin but Han-fan would wash it and use it as a devotional at night.

It easy to speak when you are not going through persecution but those who have gone through persecution for Christ get strength from HIS WORD. That is the Seed of life.
